Is it painted or does the Igusa come in different colors?
Igusa series features a green color. Please note that igusa is a natural material, so it starts out green but over the years it changes into honey-color affected by sun.

By laying the tatami mats in different mesh directions, the light reflecting from these mats will differ, creating an illusion of having two different colors.
This method of tatami laying is common for Japanese-style rooms. Such laying style is called a checkered-pattern laying style.

However, there are also many customers who choose to use two different colors.
For example, many customers choose to combine Green with Bright Green, or Beige with White.
