What a great, cool layout!

We recently received an emailfrom an American customer who bought twelve of our tatami mats.

We are enjoying our tatami very much, especially the black and grey combination. It is a unique and bold addition to our living room. We have been getting lots of compliments on the tatami in our living room and we are very happy we purchased it. .

The photograph this customer sent us shows a very bold colour coordination and placement of the tatami mats. Plus, we were amazed by the sheer size of the room.

If you look closely, you can see some zabutons (Japanese cushions) in the back.

Thanks to a design that’s not overly Japanese, here we have a very special space for relaxation.

The tatami mats featured

This customer bought our tatami mats via our overseas e-commerce site, Tokyo Tatami Maker.

Twelve tatami mats, each measuring 82x82x1.5cm (32.3 x 32.3 x 0.6 inches), are laid out.

They are laid on top of the flooring which provides an anti-skid surface, so the tatami mats won’t move.

Tatami mats made with materials other than soft rush (Juncus effusus) are now available, and these can be shipped to countries which would otherwise have quarantine issues.

Additionally, thanks to the wide variety of colours, an interior space with non-Japanese design cues/elements which feature tatami mats could well become popular.
