Measuring the room

When making a Japanese-style tatami mat, first measure the dimension of the room.
For example, the dimension s of one room with 6 tatami mats should be specified as 2,640 mm×3640 mm.(104 inches ☓ 1417 inches)

Aside from this, please also specify the thickness of the mat to be made. It should be between 15 mm to 55 mm.

Buildings may look straight (!) or perpendicular (!), but because they are man-made structures, these still have subtle bents.

Due to this, please measure one side in 3 places, and specify the shortest part.

This is because the tatami mat may not fit if it is larger than the size of the room.

However, on the contrary, even if the mats are smaller by 5 mm, this would only translate to a 2.5 mm gap at both ends of the room which is barely noticeable.

As shown in the figure, please measure the size of one side in about 3 places.

(For example, if both sides of A are 2,640 mm and the center is 2,638, and if the top and center of B are 3,640 mm and the bottom is 3,637 mm, then please specify the dimension as 2,638 mm×3,637 mm.)

If you know the dimensions of the room, please contact us using the inquiry form.

We will let you know the size of the tatami mats and how many are needed, along with the estimated price.

The estimate will be sent to you within 1 business day (24 hours) at the latest.

The tatami mats are made to form a checkered pattern and delivered with an illustrated guide on how to install them.
