This method of tatami laying is common for Japanese-style rooms. Such laying style is called a checkered-pattern laying style.
However, there are also many customers who choose to use two different colors.
For example, many customers choose to combine Green with Bright Green, or Beige with White.
The following photo shows a sample of the Green color when laid in a checkered-pattern style.

Again, it’s very common for Japanese-style rooms to choose only one color for the mats while having them laid in a checkered-pattern. It’s also very common for rooms to use a combination of two different colors. We believe the choice is up to our customers to choose their own favorite colors and combinations.
