How we quote for our made-to-measure Tatami mats

We offer two methods for providing a quote on Tatami mats.

You can request a quote from us based on the specific size and quantity of the Tatami mats you need.

If you already have a specific size in mind for your Tatami mats, please inform us of the desired dimensions (width x length x thickness) and the number you need.

We can produce Tatami mats with precise size adjustments in 1 mm increments.

We welcome orders of any size, even if it’s just for a single mat.

For instance, you might specify ‘835mm x 934mm x 25mm for 3 mats’ or ’31 in. x 70 in. x 1.18 in. for 8 mats’.

2. Feel free to request a quote from us based on the dimensions of your room

If you’re looking to install Tatami mats over an existing floor in a room, or if you have a specific area you’d like to cover with Tatami mats, please provide us with the dimensions of that room or area (length x width x height). We will calculate the number of mats needed based on these measurements

Again, we can manufacture our Tatami mats with precise sizing, adjustable in 1mm increments. Just let us know the desired dimensions, for instance, ‘3,430mm x 2,458mm x 15mm’. You can also provide the size in inches if that’s more convenient.

This flexibility makes it easy to fit Tatami mats in rooms with conventional flooring.

When providing us with the room dimensions for your Tatami mats, please adhere to the following instructions:

If you’re considering Tatami mats for a Japanese-style room, it’s important to measure the room accurately first. For instance, you might specify the size as ‘2,640mm x 3,640mm (103 in. x 143 in.)’.

Also, don’t forget to indicate the desired thickness of the Tatami mats, selecting from a range of 15mm to 55mm (0.6in. to 2.1in.).

Keep in mind that buildings are human-made, and even seemingly straight or right-angled structures can have subtle irregularities, such as slight curves.

Therefore, we advise taking at least three different measurements of the intended area and providing us with the shortest one. This approach is crucial because if the Tatami mats exceed the size of the room, they might not fit properly.

On the other hand, if the measurement is shorter by up to 5mm, the resulting gap would be a mere 2.5mm on each side, which is typically not very noticeable.

How to measure the size of made-to-measure Tatami mats

As shown in the diagram, please take measurements from three or so different places.

(For example, if both sides of A measures 2,640mm but measures 2,638mm in the middle, and the top and middle of B measures 3,640mm but measures 3,637mm at the bottom, please specify the size as 2,638mm x 3,637mm.)
