Tatami products for mite allergies
Some customers are concerned about mite allergies. However, it does not occur on all tatami mats.
Given the high humidity of Japan’s climate (in the rainy season etc.), rice straw tatami mats in airtight homes are subject to mite and mold infestation. As a result, there are now very few homes with this kind of mat.
At present, the material used for tatami mat cores is insulation fiber board. Over 90% of Japanese-style rooms in Japan use fiber board tatami mats.
Both the TOKYO and Zen series are odorless.
There are no nutrients that would encourage the growth of mites or mold. Furthermore, compared to the IGUSA, their durability is strong.
The TOKYO series can easily be cleaned and will leave no trace of spills or dirt, simply by wiping it clean immediately.
The ZEN series has a water-repellent finish, so even if you spill a liquid, it will simply form droplets of the liquid which can easily be wiped away.

TOKYO SERIES
IGUSA has an ideal thermal function, keeping your room at an even humidity. However, if you leave futon spread out on it, you can get a mildew. Make sure that you fold it every morning you have risen. Then you do not get any mildew.
Classic Black-Heri Igusa Akebono
TOKYO series does not have any nutrients that a mildew likes, so you should not worry about it too much.
Some customers do not like the aroma of IGUSA. TOKYO series is odorless, so it should not cause any problems.
