What material do you use for doko, the core of your tatami?

The core material of tatami is fiberboard.

The interior of the mats is made using fiber board.
At present, in Japan, mats that are made using straws carry a high
possibility of being defected due to mites or molds. As a result, the
material has long become obsolete in the country.

When rice straw tatami mats are exported, there is the issue of
quarantine, so our suggestion would be fiber board tatami mats.
