Q1. Before ordering tatami mats from our company, what kinds of concerns or troubles did you have? What was your desired solution to them?
We were hoping to find a way to outfit a sunroom in our house with tatami mats after having visited Japan twice and really enjoying tatami, but we were concerned about the potential for bugs and mold, so we were excited to find your Classic Tokyo series mats!
Q2. How did you find out about our tatami mats? (keyword searches, SNS, introduction by other parties, etc.)
We searched a long time for tatami makers who would ship to the US, and we came across a recommendation for your company on Reddit!
Q3. After finding out about our tatami mats, did you consider applying immediately?
Yes! We really appreciated the fact that you do samples — we ordered samples of 4 different tatami mats right away, and after figuring out the dimensions for our room and deciding on a tatami type, then we placed our order.
Q4. What points (which characteristics) were the deciding factors which led to your order?
The samples! For such a large purchase (we ended up getting 4 regular mats and 1 hanjo mat), it was really nice to know we loved the tatami we were getting before spending the full amount! Also, I had some questions and your team was very quick to respond with helpful answers, which we really appreciated!
Q5. After actually using our tatami mats, what are your thoughts and feelings on them? Please provide your honest impressions.
We really love them! They’ve turned our space into such a warm, inviting, comfortable room that we all want to be in. They stay in place really well (we were worried they might move around a bit since our room’s floor size is slightly bigger than the tatami), and so far have seemed easy to vacuum for upkeep.
Q6. Any other opinions or views you would like to share with us
We noticed that the cleaning guide that came with our tatami seemed like something might be wrong with the ‘Tokyo series’ column; the instructions sounded incomplete there, or like they were missing part of the translation. Thank you again for helping us turn a room in our new house into something so special! We love our tatami and will recommend your site to everyone who asks us about it!
