🟩 Tatami Types & Materials

Q. What types of tatami facing materials do you offer?
A. We proudly offer 100% Japan-made tatami. Our options include:

  • Natural Igusa (Ryukyu Tatami / IGUSA Series)
  • Sekisui Migusa (TOKYO Series)
  • Washi Paper with Resin Coating (ZEN Series)
  • Traditional Tatami with Borders (Classic Series)

Q. What are the differences between natural and synthetic tatami?
A.

  • TOKYO Series: Made of durable polypropylene, easy to maintain.
  • ZEN Series: Washi + resin coating, highly resistant to mold, mites, and fading.
  • IGUSA (Natural): Features natural scent and matures from green to golden.

Q. What’s the difference between IGUSA and Classic Igusa?
A. Classic Igusa is more durable, while IGUSA is cost-effective with a similar appearance.

Q. What is the core material used in your tatami?
A. We use compressed wood fiberboard (insulation board). For thicknesses over 40mm, we combine it with Styrofoam for additional support.

🌟 Functionality & Usage

  • Custom thicknesses available with added cost
  • Thinner mats reduce step height and ease cleaning

Q. Is mold or mites an issue?
A.

  • Natural Igusa: Requires regular ventilation and cleaning
